Namaste,

Greetings with the most famous verse in the Marathi language,

composed by Saint Jnaneshvara [13th cent.], the boon he asked from

his Teacher upon completion of his commentary on the Bhagavadgita:

duritaache.n timira jaavo . vishva svadharmasuurye.n paaho .

jo je.n vaa.nchhiila to te.n laaho . praaNijaata .. [XVIII:1795]

May the darkness (of ignorance) leave the wicked.

May all people perceive the universe in the sunlight of Virtue.

May every creature receive all that is wished for.

Regards,

sunder
