What of my personal faults- do > I have what it takes to go so far? ... Dear Jen, namastE! Forgive me for being harsh but: I think you are undergoing something called spiritual stress. Those who are detemined, will never question --- and those who question will some time in future determine... Nobody can help you except yourself, hence don't ask --- on what will happen to your personal life. Nothing will happen, unless you want it to happen that way. I don't really understand, what are we trying to do here? Achieving a spacewalk? Then the fundamentals have to be completely studied again. Jen, tell me, did you study anywhere that ---- *the ultimate experience* is going to be horrible? is it going to be something which transforms you physically? which makes you do crazy things? I am afraid no where such a thing is written. All the scriptures and Seers promised was that the state is going to be absolutely blissful and beautiful. Believe me *that* is truth. Then *why* are you worried? Self Sacrfice, Cultural abronormality, suffering --- all these are issues related to your attitude and behaviour with the socity. They have got nothing to do with the experience. Actually, you will find enormous change in others behaviour after you change... > > Anyhow, since I'm on the topic, does anyone else feel that a sudden > violent experience or Knowing of Atman can cause mental illness? > Experience of Atman can never cause mental illnesses. If anybody claims undergoing mental illness after experiencing the atman, then it is not their experience of Atman, but it is the experience of frustration.
