Guest guest
Greetings Jen: You have raised several valid and important questions that arise in everyone's mind sometime or other. There is nothing unusual about such thoughts and they always come and go. Dreams and thoughts are quite alike and they bring happiness and sorrow, courage and fear, good and evil, etc. We do recognize that dreams are not 'real' and consequently they have no effects except for some temporary emotional disturbances during sleep. I don't think that I am knowledgeable enough to answer all the questions that you raised. We raise questions when we have doubts and our doubts create fear and confusion. The best source for finding the answers for your questions is 'Bhagavad Gita,' and many translations of Gita are available and you can buy them in the internet from Barnes & Noble or Borders or Amazon.com. If you search the archives of this list, you can collect the complete discussions commentaries for the first four chapter. Gita is also available in the Internet in the electronic form in different languages. I have no doubt in my mind that if you read and follow the messages of Gita, you will be able to understand, that 'we don't need to renounce the world that we live.' On the contrary, we recognize to renounce our doubts by just focusing our life with faith and conviction. I have addressed your question regarding Conch in a separate post. regards, Ram Chandran Note: As a moderator of this list, I want to assure that the questions that you have raised fall within the scope of this list and please feel to raise such questions without 'fear!'
