Guest guest
Namaste, One of the methods of self-study of the Gita is to find some key concepts, find their occurrence in various parts og the Gita and try to understand them. For example, I found the words " dharma, paapa, doshha". in chapter 1. I shall find the cross-references and study them. I have collected about a hundred of these. The human physical eye is said to be able to distinguish over 16 million colors! Just imagine how many colors the "eye of wisdom" can fathom from nearly 100 key ideas!! Regards, s. Guest guest
How about non-occurence of certain words ? Someone told me that the word "ananda" never occurs in the Gita though the Lord speaks of the Bliss of Brahman. He always uses "sukam" instead. Is there any reason for that ? Anand P.S. Poor me. The Lord does'nt like my name. ---- you wrote: > Namaste, > > One of the methods of self-study of the Gita is to find some > key concepts, find their occurrence in various parts og the Gita and > try to understand them. > > For example, I found the words " dharma, paapa, doshha". in > chapter 1. Guest guest
Namaste, If the synonyms are closely equivalent, they can be grouped together! My speculation is that Krishna was the son of Nanda, and repeating that name would have branded him as partial or 'attached' to a family name!!!!! So in fact He deems you closer to Him than any of us!!! By analogy, Mandukya Upanishad is not mentioned in the Brahmasutra Bhashya, but the Karikas are often mentioned!!! {Does it mean Shankara didn't like the name Mandukya?!!] Regards, s. advaitin , anand_natarajan@i... wrote: > > How about non-occurence of certain words ? > Someone told me that the word "ananda" never occurs in the Gita though the Lord speaks of the Bliss of Brahman. > He always uses "sukam" instead.
