Guest guest
Is this really the month of Margashirsha ? The Makara Darshanam festival at Sabarimala concludes at the end of Margashirsha Masa. So I was under the impression that Margashirsha starts around Dec 14th. Guest guest
Namaste, I guess I should have mentioned the calendar source! It is on Kalanirnay calendar. Regional calendars in India often vary, and 3 sites I visited gave 3 different dates! So I guess the regional traditions prevail for different festivals. Datta Jayanti is on Margashirsha full Moon day [Dec. 11] and the New Moon Day is on Dec. 25, so this is Margashirsha according to Kalnirnay!
