Guest guest
Namaste, Today I shall conclude the series on cogitations on the topic of dharma with these 3 verses: Gita: 14:27 brahmaNaH hi pratishhThaa aham amR^itasya avyayasya cha . shaashvatasya cha dharmasya sukhasya ekaantikasya cha .. "For I am the abode of Brahman, the Immortal and the Imperishable, of Everlasting Virtue, and Absolute Bliss." __________________ Mahabharata : VIII Karna Parva : Ch. 69 : verse 58 dhaaraNaat dharmam iti aahuH dharmaH dhaarayate prajaaH . yat syaat dhaaraNa-sa.nyukta.n saH dharmaH iti nishchayaH .. "The word 'dharma' comes from the root dhR^i, i.e. to hold or uphold, and all beings are held together by dharma. That by which the holding together [of all human beings] takes place is 'dharma'. " ___________________ Mahabharata : Bharata-Tatparya Savitri : [concluding the Epic] uurdhva-baahuH viraumi eshhaH na cha kashchit shruNoti maam.h . dharmaat arthaH cha kaamaH cha sa dharmaH ki.n na sevyate .. Oh people! I am roaring aloud to you with upraised arms, but no one listens to me! If both wealth and desire can be acquired by dharma, then why do you not follow such a dharma? ____________________ If any of the readers would like to suggest topics from the Gita for 'cogitations', I shall be happy to post relevant verses. If there is no interest, I shall wait till the New Year, when Chapter 5 of Gita will appear in sections. Regards, s.
