The slokas that you have quoted are thougtful and thank you very much. I take this opportunity to welcome you again to the list and the list is looking forward to your active participation. It seems that you are interested in Gita and I am happy to inform you that currently in addition to Brahma Suutra discussions, the Gita Satsang is also on. warmest regards, Ram Chandran ====================================== Here is the Message Sent by Anand Sagar ======================================== I wish to quote Lord Sri Krishna's own clarification as stated in the Wonderful and most sacred Uddhava Geetha, which may be relevent : Aham Atma,Antara,Baahya,Aavritah sarva Dehinaam, Yada Bhootani Bhooteshu,Bahirantara Swayam Tadah. Bhidyate hridayagrandhi, ksidyante sarva samsayah, Ksheeyante chasya karmaani,Mayi drishte akilaatmani. Here is a translation of Lord Sri Krishna's slokas: I am the Atma.I am inside and outside and pervade all embodied beings.Just as Bhootaas are said to be composed of five bhootaas (elements)-earth,water,ether,air and fire-I am personally the outside and inside of all. Your heart will overflow(with Devotion) breaking all bonds, all your doubts will be cleared, all your karmaas will be eradicated when you are able to realize and experience that I alone am all atmaas of all beings . Guest guest
Namaste Anandji, Welcome to the Advaitin Satsang: The texts you have quoted are as follows: Uddhava Gita: [Advaita Ashrama, 1971, 3rd ed.; tr. Sw. Madhavananda] Ch. 10 : verse - 36 : aham aatmaa antaraH baahyaH anaavR^itaH sarva-dehinaam.h . yathaa bhuutaani bhuuteshhu bahiH antaH svaya.n tathaa .. "I am the Self of all creatures, being their indwelling Spirit; I am also outside them not being enveloped by anything. As the elements are both inside and outside the bodies of all creatures, so also am I." Ch. 15 : verse 30 - bhidyate hR^idaya-granthiH chhidyante sarva-sa.nshayaaH . kshiiyanye cha asya karmaaNi mayi dR^ishhTe akhla aatmani .. "When he sees Me, the Self of all, the knot [of ignorance] of his heart breaks to pieces, all his doubts are dispelled, and his Karma is destroyed." [This is a close reproduction from Mundaka Upanishad II:ii:8] Regards, s. [Foot-note: Uddhava Gita has a commentary of 18,798 verses in Marathi, by the great Saint Ekanath,1528-1579 AD. It is known as Ekanathi Bhagavat. He was a great Sanskrit scholar, but wrote this in Marathi, in Varanasi! This angered the pundits there and they tried to drown the manuscripts in the Ganges, but she would float them!! They then realised his greatness and took him and his commentary in procession as a celebration!] advaitin , "Ram Chandran" <rchandran@c...> wrote: > Harih Aum Sri Anand Sagar: > ====================================== > Here is the Message Sent by Anand Sagar > ======================================== > I wish to quote Lord Sri Krishna's own clarification as stated in the > Wonderful and most sacred Uddhava Geetha, which may be relevent : > > Aham Atma,Antara,Baahya,Aavritah sarva Dehinaam, > Yada Bhootani Bhooteshu,Bahirantara Swayam Tadah. > > Bhidyate hridayagrandhi, ksidyante sarva samsayah, > Ksheeyante chasya karmaani,Mayi drishte akilaatmani. > > Here is a translation of Lord Sri Krishna's slokas: > > I am the Atma.I am inside and outside and pervade all embodied > beings.Just as Bhootaas are said to be composed of five bhootaas > (elements)-earth,water,ether,air and fire-I am personally the outside > and inside of all. > > Your heart will overflow(with Devotion) breaking all bonds, all your > doubts will be cleared, all your karmaas will be eradicated when you > are able to realize and experience that I alone am all atmaas of all > beings . > > Anand Sagar
