Guest guest
Dear Jay, Miracles are used as an effective tool to bring out change from the Rajasic and Tamasic predominent doers. With out a jolt they can't accept the higher reality of life. Rajayoga is taught by Patanjali to achieve the very same result. Rajayoga, Tantra and Vedamantras --- they all deal with the subject of miracles. The greatest miracle maker is God. There is nobody who could do the God's miracles! God can put life in to the very same earth where we are walking on. He can make a man out of mud, an animal and put wonderful life in to it. But unfortunately not all souls could recognize the God's miracle hand behind this universe. Many people who walk on this earth are instant result mongers! For example, a person broke his leg. He goes to see a Doctor in order to get healed. Since his pain is immense he wants an immediate solution. So the Doctor offers him anesthetic. The pain is gone, but is that really gone! No! It is gone temporarily. And while the anesthetic is working, the doctor will work on setting the broken leg straight. Apply the same example in our lives. Not all people are blessed with answers for life. Not all are blessed with what is really required to live a real life. The essential thing which is required to walk on this earth is to be "fear less". One has to be a Dhira. But not all are Dhiras. Many people get shaken away when confronted with the darkest situations. When they fall in to a situation, they feel it is the end of their world. What they require is really knowledge --- the knowledge of higher life, the "Karma Siddhanta". But then --- can you teach somebody who is in a dire situation "karma siddhanta"? The question is will he be really satisfied with it? When a person is hungry, you can't teach philosophy to him, first satisfy his hunger and teach him how to earn daily bread. This is why our Seers have given miracle powers hidden through Vedamantras, Rajayoga and Tantra. I see Sri Ramakrishna's miracle, Swamy Vivekananda's miracles behind all this great establishment. Which is relentlessly serving millions of hungry people, millions of destitute. If it were not the miracle of Sri Ramakrishna, Saradamata and Swamy Vivekananda and all these great monks belong to Ramakrisha order, then we wouldn't be here at all. This is also a miracle. The lord said in BhagawadGita that his miracles are thousand fold! Not all realized masters employ miracles as effective tools. Especially in Kaliyuga when there are more charlatans than the real people, it is better not to use miracles. Because one really doesn't know who is who. If you see a master performing miracles, then see what exactly he is gaining behind showing those miracles. If he is amassing wealth in his personal bank vault then he is a charlatan. Because Seers have explicitly forbidden using miracle powers for personal gains. Those who tread the true Hindu path, though capable of performing miracles, will never gain anything out of it, except doing some good which is possible to them. I have seen people who are still living in India, who are capable of performing miracles, who never come out to public only because they do not want to gain anything personal out of it. Miracles are a part of Hindu evolution system. Those who are evolved, who are predominant satvic, they will know the truth of life. They are rationalists. They think beyond where most people stop thinking. So for them Miracles are not required. But for others it is required. Hindu System caters everybody's need. It doesn't exclude any living being out of its fold, including animals. Yours questions and comments are most welcome.
