Guest guest
Think without words.... Find God without concepts.... Fire burns as long as there is fuel so too desire! Emotions only dance when we make them our partner... You cannot force a child to grow nor can you hurry enlightenment, All unfolds when ready! When the mind forgets something the more you search the longer it elludes you... only when you give up the search does it suddenly "appear" out of the silence..... The illusiveness of time is such when waiting for something it never arrives.. when it is forgotten - the arrival comes before you know it!! * Search for enlightenment - you will not find it... Studying - you cannot learn it.... Looking - you will not see it.... Cut down the forest of illusion, until the precipice of surrender and the unknown is reached - then simply fall in...... Guest guest
>crystalkundalini >advaitin >advaitin > New Hmmmms and advaita koans >Sun, 28 Jan 2001 04:17:00 -0000 > > >Think without words.... Sorry contradition in terms. Thought is a reflection of the memory. one has to think to go beyond the thoughts and words. Hence a proper teacher is required and proper pramaaNa is required to use the words and thoughts appropriately to take one beyond the words and the thoughts. Otherwise one goes to sleep. > >Find God without concepts.... > God -himself or itslef or herself is a concept. Oneself is the only one that exists beyond the concepts. One cannot help longing for Happiness until one discovers that the happiness that one longs for is ones own self. >Fire burns as long as there is fuel >so too desire! True and more than that too. Fulfilling the desire is like putting out the fire by adding petrol. >Emotions only dance >when we make them our partner... > >You cannot force a child to grow >nor can you hurry enlightenment, >All unfolds when ready! True provided one keeps feeding and watering the plant with proper nurishments with care. To get ready is the process using proper saadhana. One cannot feed the child junk fund and expect it grow hale and healthy. That is what saadhana chatushhTayam means. >When the mind forgets something >the more you search >the longer it elludes you... >only when you give up the search >does it suddenly "appear" >out of the silence..... true but one cannot but search as long one feels at loss. One cannot find as long as one is searching. Hence grace is the essence required. The knowledge cannot be willed. But one has to prepare to receive the knowledge. Hence saadhana is essential. >The illusiveness of time is such >when waiting for something it never arrives.. >when it is forgotten - the arrival comes before you know it!! Arrivals and departures are bounded by time. One has to be very carefull in these teachings otherwise one can get blasted. shravanam, mananam and nidhidhyaasanam are the accepted methods required and these requires saadhana and proper teacher to guide. Otherwise one will soon get frustrated takiing these statements, although true from the absolute point, but can derail the mind. One has to be careful to whome these statements are made. Our teachers have been vere careful in handling the minds of the students so that they can evolve. >* Search for enlightenment - you will not find it... > Studying - you cannot learn it.... > Looking - you will not see it.... > Cut down the forest of illusion, > until the precipice of surrender and the unknown is reached - > then simply fall in...... Sir I will be very careful to spread these kinds of teachings. It is like JK statement - truth is pathless land. Then why did he go on lecutre circus for the next fifty years or asking people to think along with him while saying that thinking is result of ones conditioning. Please one has to be very careful in these. The first statement - is true only from the point of reality since reality is ones own self and there is no need to search. But the mind conditioned by notions about oneself cannot but seek until the mind is prepared about the nature of the problem. That preparation is effective only when the mind is ready. Sadhana is essential to prepare the mind ready. Then your statements have any relavency. Hence Kena Upanishads statements: That which eyes cannot see, but because of which the eyes have a capacity to see, That which the speach cannot speak but because of which one has the capacity to speak That which the mind cannot think but because of which the mind has the capacity to think that which the ears cannot hear but because of which the ears have the capacity to hear the which the life cannot exist but because of which life has the very existence Know that alone is Brahman and not that this you worship. This is a contemplative teaching that involves mananam, and nidhidhyaasanam to lift ones mind from the notional state to the absolute state. Our sages have been very careful with the words. Understand the reality while also understood how to teach - Hence the advice to appraoch a teacher who is not only established in reality but also who can communicate to the student. If I have come across very strongly sorry for that. As Shree Anand Hudli has been pointing out, one has to be very careful in these teachings and in the use of words. Unprepared mind can get derailed in the process. Hari OM!
