Born in a orthodox smartha (advaita) brahmana family, i studied vedas and astrology(to an extent) under the guidelines of my father and grandfather. My father was a dwivedi( studied two vedas, viz., Rgveda, yajurveda) my grandfather was a trivedi (Rg, Yajuss,Sama) and both are well versed in Tharkka sasthram and hence the name sastrigal came to our family. Now i am working in a government department, income tax dept. in the clerical cadre.
