gItAsatsang: List is looking for discussants

namaste to all.

 

As you all know, we are having bhagavadgItA satsang discussion

at advaitin List for the past one and half years. We have now

reached the sixth chapter. This satsang is led by shri Sunder

Hattangadi with valuable assistance from shri Madhava Turumella

and a team of volunteers.

 

I am writing this note requesting more active participation

in the satsang. For any discussion List such as ours, discussion

is the blood stream. By discussion, we get our doubts removed

and understanding clarified. We have gItA commentaries by

swami Gambhirananda and swami Chinmayananda in the Files

section of the advaitin. More important than the material

present there, is the discussion on the List which stimulates

more active participation by the more silent members.

 

All of us have exposure to gItA at some stage or other of

our lives. This satsang is a wonderful opportunity to rethink

some of the understanding we had of the gItA. I am hoping

each of us will contribute at least one article to the satsang

every two weeks. This article can be your understanding of the

particular verses being discussed, or a presentation by

another commentator on the gItA, or a question on what was

presented by others. Or, it could be a summary impression

of the gItA. But whatever the post is, I would request you

to think of presenting at least one article on the gItA

discussion for every two weeks. We do not want the gItA

discussion to wither away because of lack of participation.
