Guest guest
Here is the lecture announcement about the Kenopanishhat. Personally I am keenly interested in this lecture since I want to know how Bhagawaan Ramaanuja, the very embodiment of Bhakti, interprets Kena sloka-s - about the nature of Brahman - tat eva brahma tvam viddhi na idam yat idam upaasate - know that alone is Brahman not this that you worship here - This statement is repeated five times taking each j~nanedria as an example. That which mind cannot think but because of which the mind has the capacity to think know that alone is Brahman not this that one worships here. That which the speach cannot speak but because of which one has the capacity to speak, that which the eyes cannot see but because of which the eyes have the capacity to sea, that which ears cannot hear but because of which the ears have the capacity to hear etc. It is beyond the known and unknown -that who understands it, understands it not. It is the eye of the eye, ear of the ear, mind of the mind, etc-This upanishhat is one of the most beautiful upanishhat that describes essentially using words that which cannot be described. I urge everyone to listen to this lecture. Instead of we going to a lecture, the lecture is coming right to our house. Shree Mani has provided the information of how to for the lecture. He says it is free for advaitins - one can make use of the offer. But when one receives knowledge, it is important to offer something in return - It is not payment for knowledge - no one can buy knowledge - it is vastu tantra not purusha tantra. It is an offering so that this kind of service can be done so that others can get benefit. This is only way to insure that the knowledge we receive stays with us. I hope to see you all in the lecture! Hari Om! Sadananda > >Dear Sri Sadananda, > >Can you please post this on the Advaita List? Guest guest
Dearest Sir, It is fascinating to even try to step into the big shoes and think and feel like a Bhakta. It may be full of errors, but, here is a try. >know that alone is Brahman not this that you worship here The pure innate and unbroken consciousness that is Brahman that encompasses all of universe is the real Brahman to be felt and realised; the external form that is seen outside of oneself is but a lesser truth. >That which mind cannot think but because of which the >mind has the capacity to think It is thru the pervading of Brahman that mind thinks; without Brahman mind cannot think, but, this is a theoritical possibility because everything is Brahman. >It is beyond the known and unknown Brahman is subtle and pervades all; yet it is not seen usually because it is subtle beyond what we can know thru our usual capacities. Yet it is not unknown (beyond unknown) because it is knowable. >who understands it, understands it not The subtle Brahman is beyond understanding; one who thinks he/she understood it entirely really has not understood it because understanding is from senses and Brahman is beyond senses.
