Guest guest
OM Pardon this if you find this a unwelcome digression: http://www.spaceweather.com/ GEOSTORM: A powerful geomagnetic storm is in progress. It began at 0100 UT on March 31st (8 p.m. EST on March 30th) when a coronal mass ejection struck Earth's magnetosphere. A second solar wind disturbance has since arrived (see below) pumping more energy into the ongoing storm. Last night sky watchers as far south as Texas, southern California and Mexico saw bright Northern Lights. If you live above ~40 deg. geomagnetic latitude (this includes nearly all of the continental United States), please remain alert for auroras again tonight. The best time to look is usually near local midnight. Above: Click to view our growing gallery of aurora photos.
