Guest guest
Sri Rama Jayam. Today is Ram Navami. On this auspicious day, let us worship the Lord whose name is the greatest source of peace. It is by uttering RAMA that rocks could be made to float on water, thus building a bridge. By saying RAMA, Hanumanji jumped off a cliff with no fear of falling. Pib re Rama Rasam. (Drink the nectar of Rama's name) so sings Sadashiva Brahmendra. It is said that there were three great feasts that Lord Vishnu had in his avataras. Two of them were in Sri Rama Avataara and one in the Sri Krishna Avataara. Let us contemplate on one of those great feasts. Sri Rama had vanquished the Rakshasas of Lanka and was returning triumphantly with Sri Lakshmana and Devi Sita in the Pushpaka vimana. Hanumanji prefered to fly by Himself instead and took off separately. Instead of flying straight to Ayodhya, Sri Rama took the Puspak Viman to the hermitage of the sage Bharadwaja. The sage was overjoyed by this visit and he arranged a lunch for all of them. The sage had a magic cow through which any number of guest could be fed. However, once the guests start eating, the cow would stop giving. Soon the armies of Sri Rama joined Him, and a huge assembly sat for lunch at the sage Bharadwaja's hermitage. However, for some reason Sri Hanuman did not arrive and in the crowd, no one thought of Him as missing. The guests sat down for lunch and the call was given to begin. Just then Hanumanji dropped down from the sky. What to do now? There was no more food left and the guests have begun to eat. Here was the great Rama Bhaktha Himself with no where to eat. The sage was in a dilemma. Sri Ramachandra solved the problem in a simple way. He divided His leaf plate into two parts and divided the food on His leaf plate into two parts. He called Sri Hanuman to His plate and asked Him to share the food with Him. Thus Bhaktha and Bhagavan had a meal from the same plate. This was one of the three best feasts the Lord had.
