Guest guest
Shree Murthy and all fellow seekers, My sincere thanks to all those who responded expressing their condolences. I did not expect the announcement. Actually there is no need for these condolences, particularly from the members of this Vedanta group. Death itself is a mysterious thing. The matter can never perish nor the soul. Then what really dies? Death is part of this great zig-saw puzzle. It is the most important lesson that the nature provides for those who think that they are alive that nothing is permanent yet everything is permanent. Bhagavad Geeta starts with this teaching. All relative realities keep changing. Death as I see it is only a lesion for those of us who think they are only the body. We spend so much of our time and energies pampering for this body investing our loves and passions and aspirations etc yet one day we leave this without a notice. Yet the life is so beautiful and dynamic. We can enjoy every minute of this life and its beauty provided we keep this perspective all the time. As I was coming to work this morning I was listening to Shree Annamaachaarya keerthana in Telugu - that starts - alaruga alivelumanga aadinade - meaning that Lakshmi who is the very embodiment of all that is manifested is dancing so beautifully to please the Lord. That is life, that is the nature and that is the very world in all its glory ever dancing to the tune of the Lord. My elder brother was a noble sole who lived his life with such a nobility providing a guiding light to all his brothers and sisters and teaching us through his own actions. Only the society misses his services by his departure from this body. I am sure Lord is so pleased that he wants to use his services for greater purpose. After his retirement he was involved in so much of social services even at the cost of his health. He was managing very efficiently a free hostel for poor but intelligent students that we started few years ago in Anantapur. He was also managing a foundation on our father's name that we started after our father's departure. The purpose of the foundation is mostly for publishing our father's unpublished works on Vedanta, particularly VishishhTaadvaita. Yet so much work is still left to be done. I have no feeling that my brother has ever departed us, and he is only watching us with a smile whether we are ready to take up the responsibilities that he handed us. I am rushing to India to provide my respects and to provide a solace to my nieces and sister-in-law who feel the great loss. My praNaams to everybody Hari Om! Sadananda -- K.
