Guest guest
Dear friends, I have especially enjoyed the various threads and conversations this past week. Thanks to all for contributions that have so much erudition, intellect, and heart! I have learned so much. This has got to be one of the most interesting and lively groups on . In gratitude for this, I would like to share a poem that a friend just sent me. Somehow, it seems appropriate for this group; I hope you think so, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. The poet is not known to me, but I think she's someone I will have to investigate. With affection, Steve ************* Today Today is the day you have been waiting for when you would finally begin to live when you would at last open the door. This is the what, the circumstance, the more you have been withholding, saving to give. Today is the day you have been waiting for when you could sit down to your desk for hours, take pride, time, find out what work is, when you would at last open the door to your own self-development, what god has for you. Today is the day you come out of prison, live. Today is the day you've been waiting for the tomorrow you pined away yesterday for. I think love rhymes in a way with give. You at last open the door to the possibility of now, the core of life is the moment, now, how you live. Today is the day I have been waiting for when you would at last open the door. Guest guest
Namaste, Thanks for sharing the lovely creation! And I share in your joy. It so happened that I also came across a striking poem by Tennyson, 'In Memoriam' : "Let knowledge grow from more to more, But more of reverence in us dwell; That mind and soul, according well, May make one music as before, But vaster. We are fools and slight; We mock thee when we do not fear: But help thy foolish ones to bear ; Help thy vain worlds to bear thy light....... Thrice blest whose lives are faithful prayers, Whose loves in higher love endure; What souls possess themselves so pure, Or is there blessedness like theirs? ............ And what delights can equal those That stir the spirit's inner deeps, When one that loves but knows not, reaps A truth from one that loves and knows. ..........."
