Guest guest
Paul-ji and respected members, There were two things I found counter-intuitive in the article you'd posted about the two pools. Maybe you could shed some light on this. "Or you may resort to the well-intentioned but inaccurate devices of positive thinking or affirmations" What's wrong with positive thinking or affirmations? The scriptures seem to be full of such examples - In the Geeta, Lord Krishna exhorts Arjuna to fight the Kauravas as per his dharma, instead of looking at the outcome of the war in terms of loss of loved ones. In the Ramayana, its optimism and positive thinking that kept Seetha alive at Lanka awaiting her rescue. Isn't it optimism and faith in a better future (if respective stipulations are followed)that keeps religion alive? Isn't it because of optimism that there _is_ something more to life than the materialism that pervades our day-to-day life make us members of this list? The other statement that I found counter- intuitive - Why would I _want_ to be hurt or unhappy? The explanation completely escaped me.
