Guest guest
Studying the teachings of Swami Ashokanandaji I came across something quite extraordinary. He said something like:- Consciousness is always "Super consciousness" . It is the ego that produces the other states. (Consciousness is always Super consciousness! Our problem is that we see it as consciousness.... What a grand explanation...) The way I interpret this is: There is only Super consciousness around. Due to our (very understandable) limitations we see it as:- 'Consciousness' 'sub-consciousness' un-consciousness' etc. Spirituality involves discarding this perversion we impose on Super-consciousness. What a grand thought! We observe the same forthright utterances in Gaudapada's Mandukya Karika. His teachings must have caused quite a stir in his age. One of the proofs that a personality is talking spirituality from experience rather than book learning is such unusual utterances. They may be saying the 'same thing' but the manner is very 'original' as we see in the case of Swami Ashokananda. jay
