Dear Ricardo We are still short of my target of 500,000 protests, and as it so happens spirit has given and extension of an extra two weeks till the end of the May 2001 to mail or fax in letters of protest. On May 4th, 2001 a longer version of this email was sent to approximately 10,000 people on my lists. (See http://www.dreamweaving.com/lfas). As a result it was chain mailed onto hundreds of thousands of other people. It really has worked according to feedback from several independent sources the fax line into NMFS has been booked solid. My website has been extra busy. So far this month (as of May15th) we have over 100,000 hits from people responding to this email. In 1998 email protests really have worked and now I plead with you again to send in YOUR protest if you have not and PASS this new email on to others so that they too can help us save the whales. The Navy's application for a permit to kill more whales and dolphins has been meeting some tough opposition. Low Frequency Active Sonar is so loud that whales are killed by this sonar device which is billions of times louder than a 747 taking off. I hope you understand the worldwide and even cosmic ramifications of this destructive sonar device. Its effect is not only destroying the habitat of the whales but also the very vibrations within our living oceans and coastal communities. The deeper effect is potentially even more devastating because the sonar is to be deployed in over 80% of our oceans. Please take a look at the 60 Minutes video and my video of the hearings called Resounding Jericho - Stop LFAS - it will be our cries that will crumble the walls of our modern day establishment. Please, please, please protest via the link to the National Resources Defense Council's protest form. We need you to help us reach a goal of 500,000 protests so please, please, please pass this message onto everyone that you know.
