Guest guest
Sir, Mind does not understand the present that is the truth. Future is also in the past but in the form of expectaion or imagination. The past is another thought in the present. The mind dwells in the past thought as the past is the mind. A thought is as passive (inert) as the colour of the wind. What if the ultimate finding is that we are in the dream of a 'giant dinosour' is an imagination about the future based on the idea from the past which is a thought in the present. In this thought of the past and the future, the present (the truth) is not experienced. Experiencing the present without any thought is the ultimate awareness experiencing its projection in NOW that the mind labels it as 'consciousness or god'. Just be THAT without any judgements, without any labels , without any words or concepts creating barriers (e.g. 'Basic Advaita' and 'Advanced Advaita') and without any thought about doership / seekership. During the recent earthquake event in Gujarath, bananas were distributed to people standing in the line. A six year old girl who survived the event received one banana. A photographer wanted to take her picture. The girl crossed the street and found her two younger brothers who waited there as per her instructions. She divided one banana in three parts and shared it with them. The photographer was full of tears in that moment. He could not take the picture but he experienced the God in that moment. If this has brought tears to you, you have just felt the God in that moment. This is one example of what experiencing the present moment means. The smile, laughter, the joy from simple observation, tears from eyes, touch of the friendship or love, fragrance, and pleasant listening ....all happen in the experiencing of the NOW moment. BHAVA is DEVA. Bhava is that emotional experiencing that happens only in THAT moment.....the present moment. Words are not able to describe the glory of the present. This is where the mind fails. Each religion name is like a banana skin that protects the real thing under its skin ; ie the spirituality. To hang on to a particular label about any religion is like hanging on to a banana skin. Advanced level of spirituality is also a label from the mind. Banana is also a label. Just enjoy it. Venkatesh
