Guest guest
Dear Sri Gurumurthi ji, namaste Thanks for your reply. now i wish to clarify my previous statement as follows. Birth and death pertain to the body for the soul is eternal. however, it is the Mithyatman as described in Br.su.1.1.4 towards the conclusion of the 4th adhikarana where the Acharya points out 3 verses from an extant traditional source. It is the jiva which is the Chidabhasa, (being entangled by the antahkarana) that is under the notion that it undergoes birth and death. it is the jivatma that thinks that it is born and it will die. this is because of its identificatin alongwith the body, but it is only this conglomeration that thinks that is is born and dies and not the body which actually dies etc. S.
