Guest guest
Respected Sri Sunderji, Sri Sidharthji and all others who have been kind enough to help me in tracing the Deepikas of Sri Shankarananda Saraswathi, Thankyou all very much. I Wish to kindly reply you that i do have already got a copy of `UPANISHADAM SAMUCHAYAHA' of the Anandasrama Sanskrit Sansthan, PUNE. which contains, as you have rightly remarked, some of the deepikas of Swami Shankarananda for the other than the 10 major Upanishads. However, his Deepikas for the Katopanishad, Mundaka Upanishad, Aitereya Upanishad, Chandogya and Brihadaranyaja are not available to me anywhere. As mentioned by you, It is available at only 2 places according to the Catalogue list - 1. At Madras Government Oriental Library and 2. Sri Sringeri Math. I have seen the copy at Madras, which is unfortunately very old and is in Telugu Characters. Regarding the one at Sringeri Math, i have not seen it. Can anyone who is a close devotee of that Math, request them to publish all his deepikas, which WILL A GREAT TREASURE TO ALL STUDENTS OF VEDANTA. I have written a letter to them, requesting them to do the same, through the Advaita Research Centre they have recently started at Sringeri itself. They have the manuscripts, the required Vidwans and the facilities. Could anyone having an influence there, support for this very good cause ? Many students will be benefited. I wish to point all of your kind attention to the fact that this Shankarananda Swamigal's independant work on the Upanishads in Purana style - called as the `ATMA PURANAM' ( where he has covered only the Brahma Vidya Portions of the Upanishads ) has now started coming out once more after remaining out of print for about a century. Now it is coming out with a Sanskrit Commentary and a detailed one in Hindi also. If anyone is interested, i will give you the address etc. It is still very unfortunate that great works like that of this person, have not seen the light of the day even once. Let us all pray Him that such good works should come out to guide us. Thank you all, Namaste. S. Venkata Subramanian Venkat_advaita ___ Chat with your friends as soon as they come online.
