Harih Om!

Thanks for providing links to the articles. After performing Varasiddhi

Vinayaka vratam (puja) one has to read the story of SmantakOpAkhyana. After

reading the story, one has to take the akshatalu (ricegrains offered to Lord

Ganesha during puja) and put them on his head. Having akshatas on the head

will remove the dosha (sin) of watching the moon on this day.

Personally I can't see moon though how ever much I would like to see him

:-). It is becase I am living in a place (Berlin, Germany) where during

this season the Sun sets at 23:00 hours in the night and Sun dawns at 4:00

in the morning. I go to sleep by 10PM and I wake up at 4AM. This is my

usual body clock. So Lord Ganesha is making sure that I will have no change

of even by error watching the moon like Lord Krishna did! :-)

Yours,

Madhava
