Guest guest
Dear Unseen Friends, I have read many postings decrying, condemning, and pleading against war. Are we afraid of war? When Beirut burned more than 15 years ago, we postponed taking action against terrorists. When Munich murders took place in the Olympics, we postponed taking action against terrorists. When countries were created based on the victory of the terrorists over "corrupt" and traditional governments, we took no action against terrorism. We called these terrorists rebels and accepted the changes they wrought. In so many hot spots in the present world when terrorists attack innocent humans (in Timor, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Kashmir, many African countries) we barely report and go in our merry way. Was not a great battle fought in Kurushetra, which was termed as global war? Kunti wanted no war. Lord Krishna said to preserve Dharma it has to happen (I am writing in a crude sense). Did not millions die in that war? Was not the battle fought by Rama against Ravana a global war? Did not millions die in that war? The real question is not "avoid war at all cost". This was tried before the second world war. Do we all remember the British Lord Chamberlain's attempt to talk peace with Hitler? The real question is: How to draw a line in the sand, just like Rama did when he was in the forest with Sita. How to perform the action of war Dharmically. How to eradicate intense evil (the terrorists) from affecting the humanity any more. If we have, as superior intellects, ideas on these we should list and provide them to US and other concerned governments so that they can fight this war Dharmically and be victorious. Such a pure action will definitely eliminate intense pure evil for the present. -- Vis
