ADMIN: postings based on recent happenings

The recent calamitous happenings in the U.S. has touched all

of us immensely. Whether we have an acquintance there affected

by this, or in general by the compassion of a human to a fellow

human, we are all deeply touched. This has resulted in outpouring

of human emotions, as evidenced also by the recent postings

on our List. It is nice to see some of these postings because

it shows to ourselves that while our discussions are of the

Abstract brahman, the Consciousness, we are also touched on

by human emotions.

 

However, I would like to ask the members not to lose sight of

the objective of our List. It is advaita discussion and learning

more of the brahman that pervades all. While postings on the

recent worldly happenings are not unacceptable, it is hoped

and expected that members would relate such posts to advaita

and/or spirituality. Without that tie-up, we will end up as

a discussion group of a general nature which we are not. It

is my sincere wish as chief moderator (and concurred by

co-moderators) that members do not post petitions to political

leaders on to the List. The spirit behind such postings is

understood but, really, this List is not for such postings.
