Guest guest
Swami Omkarananda … It is time we stop being ruled, governed and enslaved by the body we live in, and its never-ending circle of wants. We are born to rule the body by the powers of the mind, to rule the mind by the powers of the loving heart, and to rule the body, mind and heart, by the higher powers of the deathless and all-perfect divine Consciousness within us. Be a mind, not all body. Be a heart, not all mind. Be the Consciousness, radiant, luminous, calm, clear-eyed, blissful – not merely body, mind and heart. Swami Rama… Happiness is your own creation. If you expect something or someone to make you happy, then forget it. Achieving the objects of your desire will not make you happy. It may give you a momentary thrill or feelings of security, but you will soon be engulfed by fear of loss. Happiness is a condition of the mind and is created by your conviction that nothing in this world is worth worrying about. The more you maintain this conviction, the stronger the habit of happiness you form. Only a happy mind can receive and contain spiritual wealth. Omar Khayyam … In life devote yourself to joy and love Behold the beauty of the peaceful dove Those who live, in the end must all perish Live as if you are already in heavens above. O hark, let us not think of the morrow Cherish this moment, far from sorrow Life is a temporal gift that we borrow Whether dead for ages, or leave tomorrow.
