Guest guest
1) Many thanks to the responders for my question on the Pramanik (authentic) shastra meant by the Lord in the Gita. I originally started thinking about it when I tried to find out if vegetarianism is actually mandated by our shastras. In all that I have read, I have not come across any law restricting people to vegetarianism. The only place where people are actually called upon to be vegetarian is in the Bhishma Yudhishthira samvad after the war in the Mahabharat. Other than the ethical issues involved with vegetarianism, I would love to know if our shastras require people to be vegetarian. 2) Economics and Vedanta by Shri Jayaraman is also available on amazon.com.
