Guest guest
Pranams Ramachandergaru, Your comments reflect/echo what Sri Krishna said 5 millenia back, in the Gita 7:3: manushhyaaNaa.n sahasreshhu kashchidyatati siddhaye . yatataamapi siddhaanaa.n kashchinmaa.n vetti tattvataH .. [Among thousands, one perchance strives for perfection; even among those who striveand are perfect, only one perchance knows me in truth.] Our discussions are bound to be of the nature that Bhagavan characterised Arjuna's, namely 'praj~naavaadaan', [like the learned debaters], and would obviously smile [prahasan iva], though you describe disillusionment in yourself. As Sri Ramakrishna described, the world is like a mixture of sand and sugar; one has to learn to sift and taste the sugar only. Guest guest
Namaste Sri Ramachanderji: To a larger extent, the silent observers of the list are potentially more knowledgeable than those like me who take every opportunity to jump into discussions. Though we try hard to be silent, the impulse to react breaks the silence. This post is no exception to this fundamental human weakness. First, let me congratulate you for your thoughtful insights on the message of Gita. After contemplating on the message of Bhagawan Krishna, it is possible for us to recognize that the message of Gita is guaranteed to be from all attempted external corruptions. In fact Gita has the life-time warranty to be trouble free from corruptions. We know that Wisdom is the ultimate Truth and ignorance is only temporary! Those who attempted to corrupt the message of Gita have failed miserably and became corrupt! Fundamentally, Gita is Dharma Sastra and all messages within Gita should be understood (studied and practiced) within the context of `righteousness.' In modern times, it seems that `Dharma.' the fundamental ingredient of Gita is overshadowed by greed and selfishness. We can safely conclude that the message of Gita without the fundamental ingredient, `Dharma' in all likelihood will appear to be corrupted! warmest regards, Ram Chandran advaitin, "P.R.Ramachander" <prr@b...> wrote: > Dear Friends, > I have been a silent asdmirer of the discussion that is going on in this group.I am ofcourse little disillusioned because of my ignorance. In a way you are right, but I would not be that desperate. With all due respects, I would like to remind you that Shree Ramachandra-s are always rare and far in between at any age. Sri Ksihna gives statistics in Bhagavad Geeta - manushyaanaam sahasreshu kachit yatati siddhaye| yatataatapi siddhaanaam kaschin maam vetti tatvataH| Of the thousands of people only very few like to listen to this Vedanta and of those only very few want to pursue the path of realization. It is always the case- the number of people who strive for perfection in any field are very rare and far in between. The more the materialistic the world is the less percentage it becomes. But there are always some at any age. But even if one encounters one, it requires some samkaara to recognize those persons and those who recognize and follow evolve themselves. The others on the side line, who cannot recognize the glory of the teacher will always feel that those follow are fanatics indeed. This is always the case. There were people who glorified Krishna was god incornate and even at that age there were those who thought he was just crooked person. There are always hundred kouravaas and five pandavas - Any evolution is always a piramidal structure. I think ultimately it boils down is to question oneself rather worry about others or about statistics - what is that I am going to do for me to evolve? Am I following what I believe in? Yoga is ultimately to integrate ones personality - what I think is right and What I feel like following is in tune with what I think is right and my actions reflects what I think and what I feel and what I say - manassa vaachaa karmaNaa- This is what is called 'aarjavam' - straightforwardness - This is also 'satyam' and this is also swadharma - This is only way to evolve - all yogas you mentioned is to arrive at this - Then there are no internal conflicts within in spite of what is without. Any way this is my opinion. Thanks again. Hari OM! Sadananda -- K. Guest guest
Namaste, The Gita gives the 'phala-shruti' [benefits of study] in 5 verses, 18:68-72: [One who eschews austerity, or devotion, or service, and bears ill-will towards Me, should not study this dialogue - :67]. 18:70 - Whoever studies this sacred dialogue would be deemed to have worshipped me with the sacrifice of wisdom. So, it does not matter if we talk, or remain silent, the 'j~naana-yaj~na' will have been performed as a matter of course. Those who are established in the highest wisdom have no need of performing the yaj~na. They do not need the vedas or yaj~nas, "in the same way that a pond is useless during a flood." Guest guest
Hi all It's very hard to me to write in english, but i'll try. I think that the world needs peoples non-egoistic that can change the world. This must be the aim of all our effort for perfection. This perfection can appear in this life or not, but desillusion is for seeking a result. If we act for love, for the necessity of the Good, there no place for desillusion.
