Guest guest
namaste. End of the year is approaching and this is the time again for a change in stewardship of the List. I am stepping down as chief moderator of the List. I am dropping out also as a moderator at this time. I want to take this ooportunity to express my deep sense of gratitude to all the members for their help, cooperation and understanding throughout the year. The List is not impervious to the happenings of the world and as all of us know, this has been a particularly difficult year. But with understanding of the members, and tremendous cooperation from all the co-moderators, we tried to keep the List on focus and meet the objectives. Now it is my pleasant duty to introduce the new chief moderator of the List shri Sadanandaji. Shri Sadanandaji is well known to the List with his deep knowledge of advaita, which he has achieved through the learned gurus and through deep contemplation. He is an original member of the List since its inception, and has helped numerous members clearing up their doubts. He is an active participant in the List deliberations not only with regular Notes on BrahmasUtrAbhAShyA but also on other topics. He has a very clear knowledge of advaita and is willing to help both newcomers and long-time members on advaitic understanding. We are indeed fortunate that shri Sadananda garu has accepted this responsibility. The List is in excellent hands under his stewardship. Guest guest
This is addressed to Shri Gummuluruji, Your presence as a thoughtful guide to all list members ,I am sure, is appreciated by one and all of the members. But, why relinquish being a moderator also? Of course, everyone knows that your contributions will continue to be there. As rightly pointed out by you, Shri Sadanandaji needs no intro and all will welcome him as Chief moderator in the new year. A special welcome to him from my side, personally. Hari Om! Guest guest
First I want to thank the moderators, particularly Shree Ramachandran who volunteered me for the task of the Chief Moderator. The annnoucement came just as I was about to be on travel to Hawaii perhaps that set the tone my involvement as chief moderator. After this official vacation, I will be on my personal vecation to India for five weeks - All this means is the advaitin has been set up so efficiently and everything is standardized by Shree Ram Chandran that there is not much I need to do. This also reflects that elite group and the quality of the discussions that we have here on the advaita list. There is a respect of each other and each other views and we learn from each other contributions. I would like very much form the silent majority to come forward and participate in the discussions by expressing the views and their understanding. This is the time-honored way of learning from each other - only through discussions. We do that in Chinmaya Study groups and as we expand and make use of the advaced compunication technology we are able to expand and participate freely across the globe. My first task, of course, is to thank our previous Chief Moderator, Shree Gammuluru Murthy gaaru who has been an inspiration all along. Whether he is the moderator or not I am sure he will be participating as usual and stimuate discussions among us. I am privilaged to be associated with the very good and supportive members of the moderators and advaitin members. The list is growing at a steady pace and will continue as we keep our discussions more and more focussed. Thanks to our members and welcome everyone to contribute freely so that we can all learn together. Hari OM! Guest guest
Namsate Shri Gummuluru-Ji, Although I have been on this list for just about 4-5 months, I would like to say that this list would benefit if it could continue to receive your guidance as one of the list moderators. Best regards Shrinivas

My apologies for the late response as this is a particularly busy time at the University with end of semester exams etc. It is a tradition (and a good one) on the Advaitin List that there is rotation of the Chief Moderator at the beginning of every calendar year. I have been moderator of the List for the past three years and I think it is time that I be only a regular contributing member. Firstly, the List runs smoothly and there may not be a necessity for a large team of moderators. If a task arises, the moderators can co-opt a member to take care of that job. Secondly, vacating the moderator position gives opportunity for the continuing co-moderators to recruit a new co-moderator with fresh ideas, if they so desire. As for me, I would like to be just a member participating in the thrust of discussions and learning. I will be available for any task the moderators may assign from time to time depending on time availability. Guest guest
Thanks to Shri Gummuluru-Ji for doing an excellent job as the chief moderator of the Advaitin list for last year. Gummuluru-Ji is not only a learned scholar and one who understand the nature of truth but also exemplifies all the best qualities possible in a human being that make him loved by all. These include rationality combined with sincerity and humility and compassion for all. We all look forward to Sri Murthyji's continued presence. Sadaji, the new chief moderator, is well known to us and widely loved and respected. Sadaji's brilliant and powerful intellect has many times clarified for us the subtle points of scriptures and Sri Shankra's teachings. Pranams to Sri Gummuluruji and Sri Sadaji. We are fortunate for their presence. Love to all Harsha
