Guest guest
Dear All, Namaskras and salutations to one and all. I seek the blessings of the elders in the group. I have been reading the discussions which has been going on and I have some understanding, and felt that I should share the same with all of you in this area. First, we all understand that there is a infinite in us which we could be calling by many names and our endower is to realize the infinite in us. The character of this infinite is the same as the character of Brahman, which is all pure and all happiness. But this we are not able to realize due to the lack of understanding of our true self. I once heard a story which supports this and felt that i should share the story with all of you. Once there was a king and he went to the forest with his pregnant wife. War broke our and the king died. Seeing the pregnant lady the hunters in the forest took care of her, and she gave birth to a son who live with the hunters. The lady died. After some time the people of the old kingdom who where exiled, came to know that it was time for them to invade the Kingdome and so wanted the kings's son to lead them. So they started looking for the child, and found him. Once they explained to the son that he was a kind and has the responsibility to lead he lost all identity that he was a hunter and became the king and got ready to lead the army. In the same way the moment we realize our true self we become different. Now the reason for us to not able to realize our true self is maya, which is like a dust on the clean mirror which prevent us from seeing our face. So the moment we remove the dust we will be able to see the true self. My understanding is that sadana is the mechanism of being able to realize the self, by purifying us. At the same time we need to learn and understand the teachings for the same is there in the sruthi's or the vadas. Sruthis are authentic text as this is believed to be the God's breath, which means we cannot associate a time to it. Which is why it is said Brahma resisted it to us which he heard from the God. The word Sruthi it self means that which was heard. This being the importance given to Sruthi any doubts which we have can be clarified only by Sruthi. ( Incidentally my daughters name is Sruthi!!) When we come to the state of mind and behavior of a person which has realized the self it will be a pure form. To elaborate what they say become true as there expression is nothing but the expression of Brahma and so it cannot go wrong. To illustrate this there was a poet near Tanjor in Tamil Nadu, and he was a enlightened person. His behavior was crazy and some one complained to the Sarabodi King that he was mad. The king wanted to test it and so he visited him, and asked him what day was it. The person said it was a full moon day but the fact is it was a new moon day. So the king said show me the moon, and in reality the moon appeared. So the behavior and expressions of the realized person will be normal but then it will be in a pure form. We can see this in our day to day life in children. Some times they say some thing with so much convection that we will have to take it to be the word of God. This is some of my understanding of the discussions which took place and I wish that the scholars could give me a feedback on the understanding. I will improve in my expressions which could become more technical over a period of time. Oh Sri Ganashaya Namaha, Ranga
