Guest guest
Namaste: When we post a message, please note that it is delivered to 550 members. This means that we should take some extra care and time before actually send the message. Economists often apply 'Pareto Optimal' to choose any public welfare policy: This is a simple rule and it states the following: Any policy that meets the Pareto Optimal Criteria should be beneficial to atleast one person and no harm to the rest. It may appear difficult to follow, if we sincerely make attempts to satisfy this criteria as much as possible, we will have a win-win situation. While posting messages, we should remember to apply the same rule as much as possible. (The Hindu rule of observing Dharma is quite similar to the above proposition) When we see an annoying message from someone, we should be wise not to repeat the same mistake on others. A reply for a bad message is not good reply but no reply. Our ancient rule suggests the following remedy: "right medicine for a disturbed stomach and a distorted mind is respectively fasting and silence." As Vedantins, we should be aware that Overeating and overreacting will never bring peace! Finally, please send your concerns about authors to the moderators (Email: advaitins) and not to the list. It is a good gesture to send our appreciation to the author of an article - again it should be sent to the author and not to the list. Please note that any reply to a post goes to all 550 members of the list. If we intent to send it only to the author, we should change the email address. An extra minute of our time can save 550 minutes of our fellow members! The Moderators do remove irrelevant messages from the list archives on regular basis. Members suggestions and comments to improve the list are always welcome. Thanks again for your cooperation and understanding, Advaitin List Moderators ===== Tips to Members from the Advaitin List Moderators 1) While replying, avoid repeating the entire message and be brief. 2) Be considerate to your fellow members and focus only on the subject matter. 3) When you are in doubt, contac the moderators at advatins 4) Split long articles into several parts and post them separately. 5) Suggestions/comments can be sent to advaitins 6) Advaitin Webspace: advaitin Send FREE video emails in Mail! http://promo./videomail/
