Guest guest
Namaste! That was indeed great! Is the quote from "Wuthering Heights", cosidered to be her masterpiece? I read her works in my teens. Probably because I was not still conversant with philosophical ideas, particularly non-dualistic, such wonderful gems escaped my attention. I think I should now reread the Brontes - both Emile and Charlotte. Theirs was a malancholy existence, being eaten away by deadly cosumption. Even then, their thoughts were exalted as your quote now proves. Advaitic knowledge is everywhere! Thanks, Shri Madhavan. Pranams to everyone. Guest guest
I came across these lines of Emily Bronte, which I would like to share with the members of this group "Though earth and man were gone, And suns and universes cease to be, And Thou wert left alone, Every existence would exist in Thee." Guest guest
Dear Shri Madhavan, Thanks for sending the whole poem. I had not read it before. Bronte was a passion with me in my very young days. I think I should look for all her works now that I am able to find new meanings in her writings. I believe that should be possible through the net. Best regards. Madathil Nair --- Madhavan <madhra wrote: > > > I am glad that you liked the quotation. I give below the entire poem. Send FREE Valentine eCards with Greetings! http://greetings. Is the quote from "Wuthering > Heights", cosidered to be her masterpiece? Namaskaram I am glad that you liked the quotation. It is actually from her "Last Lines". I give below the entire poem. No coward soul is mine, No trembler in the world's storm-troubled sphere: I see Heaven's glories shine, And faith shines equal, arming me from fear. O God within my breast, Almighty, ever-present Deity! Life--that in me has rest, As I--undying Life--have power in Thee! Vain are the thousand creeds That move men's hearts: unutterably vain; Worthless as wither'd weeds, Or idlest froth amid the boundless main, To waken doubt in one Holding so fast by Thine infinity; So surely anchor'd on The steadfast rock of immortality. With wide-embracing love Thy Spirit animates eternal years, Pervades and broods above, Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates, and rears. Though earth and man were gone, And suns and universes cease to be, And Thou were left alone, Every existence would exist in Thee. There is not room for Death, Nor atom that his might could render void: Thou--Thou art Being and Breath, And what Thou art may never be destroyed.
