Meaning:

When the speach and vigour got loosened because of

aging, the people around would scorn at the white hair

and the ripples on the skin. So reach at the

vIraTTANam abode of the Lord smeared in glorious white

ash at thirukkOvalUr surrounded by the fields through

which river peNNai (pinAkini) flows touching the brims

of the banks.

 

Notes:

The ones who live close during the days of strength

and benefit might turn away when one becomes weak and

may also laugh at the symptoms of that weakness. So

the completely trustable one is Lord shiva, to It one

should surrender.
