Guest guest
A spiritually mature mind is not seduced by a false teaching or a false teacher that promises something, which one does not have. The wise remain utterly contented with what they have, their own nature, and where they are, in their own Self, and see the bait of higher wisdom and knowledge (to be given by someone else) as a mirage without any foundation what so ever. Sri Ramana used to say that Reality must always be Real. It cannot be more Real at some time in the future. True nonduality is simply the state of Self. It is not in conflict with one's body, mind, and humanity or with the world as it appears. The Self-Realized Sage sees no difference anywhere seeing everything emanating from his own Heart. His compassion is of the nature of a perpetual love embrace. He is truly Sahaj or natural. When Ramana Maharshi heard that Mahatma Gandhi had been shot, even though they had never met, tears started running from Sri Ramana's eyes and he started speaking of Gandhiji. And this is as a continuation of my post of this morning on compassion towards human suffering. Do you think that shri RamaNa maharShi saw a difference between Mahatma Gandhi and other souls? Or, in other words, would RamaNa maharShi's response be different if the person shot was not Mahatma Gandhi but some other ordinary person. I realize it would be a speculation on your part to answer this, but I am interested in whether you think shri RamaNa's response would be any different for an ordinary person's getting shot rather than the mahAtma. Regards Gummuluru Murthy - Namaste Sri Murthyji Yes, Sri Ramana's response would have been different. In fact, Sri Ramana *did not* in his outward behavior treat people the same at all. He was quite natural in his actions. Murthyji, the question you raise about whether Sri Ramana saw a difference between Mahatma Gandhi and other souls is an important one, but points to a perhaps a subtler issue. How did Sri Ramana view his own "seeing mind" that saw such differences? In other words, what is the relationship between the Heart and the mind?
