Notes: 1. The Highly Merciful Lord not bearing the small child sambandhar walk ing on the hot rough ground seeking His various abodes, presented pearl palanquin (pallakku), umbrella and instruments that are sounded declaring the arrival of eminant ones. The devotee who gave his complete heart to the Lord, saluted God at thiruvarattuRai with the mind brimming with devotion of thanking and sung this padhikam. 2. The vedas say, after realizing the greatness of the Supreme, one has to praise It and chant Its names. That itself will lead to liberation. sambandhar emphasizes here the need for devotion without which the pot of the heart will not be matured to accept the showers of Supreme Grace. So the feeling of the Lord and the loveful thinking of It would be the effort one needs to put to get the Divine Grace. ===== --------------------------- Visit Shaivism Home Page at http://www.shaivam.org --------------------------- Sports - Coverage of the 2002 Olympic Games http://sports.
