Meaning:

Your speech originated sin, feeling originated

illness, action originated harmful deeds - done

limitless in this world fading away, hail and think

everyday the Lord. He is the Lord shiva at

thirunAraiyUr, Who burnt the three forts (muppuram)

with the mount (meru) as the bow, Who in the darkness

(created by poison) with the Lady (uma) frightened,

ate the poison that came out of the ocean. Worship

that thirunAraiyUr with folded hands.

 

Notes:

1. The faults of the three instruments (karaNas) are

referred here and the worship of the Lord is the

refuge the saint shows to avoid getting into these

faulty way and get rid of the deeds of the past.

2. thirun^AraiyUr is the birth place of nambiyANDAr

nambi who was instrumental in getting the treasure of

dhEvAram from the thillai temple.

3. umma (ummuDaiya) - your; varai - mount; chilai -

bow; kaN^gul - darkness; veruva - frightening.
