Guest guest
Greetings ! This is a very very strange story, to say the least. I have several books on Adi Sankara and nowhere i have come across to even a reference to the event that you claim having heard. It would be interesting to know where did you "hear" of this event. regards Venkatesh > dear friends, > ive heard that Shri Adhya Shankaracharya was once meditating on Shakti.......and he became egoistic....about his power and then suddenly he lost all his shakti.......but then he started praying to shakti to forgive him...... > > I dont know how much of this is true........so could you please tell me the facts........ > > regards, > kanishk ----------------- Oreka ! Guest guest
Namaste: We honestly don't know how far narrated stories and incidents are true or not. The key focus of all such stories is to broaden our understanding. At highest level of understanding, Shivji, Shankara, Sakthi, you, I and everyone else merge into the same total consciousness (The Brahman). Though there is only one coin, we can see two faces - head and tail. Similarly Shiva and Sakthi are one at the same and this has been shown by the symbolic representation, Arthanareeswarar. By completing the great poem, Soundaryalahiri, Shankara exposes the insights of 'Sakthi' side of Shiva to all of us. When we spiritually grow, we would be able to get spiritual vision of the unity of Shankara, Shiva, Sakthi and the universe and all its beings. regards, Ram Chandran advaitin, "Kanishk Chakravarty" <kanishk@a...> wrote: > Thank you sir, for explaining to me the problem.........But wasnt shankara > himself shivji.....?? > and we know that shivji the most powerful....even more than mother...in fact > he is the swami of Mother Prakriti..... > so how is that she withdrew his power........? > > kanishk
