Guest guest
This story is said to be the origin of "Saundary Lahari". The incident seem to have happened on the banks of River Ganga in Varanasi. While explaining all that is there is "Purusha" , Adi Shankara has ignored the "Prakruti" (Shakti) aspect of it. Adi Shakara wrote "Sivanandalahari" praising Lord Siva. But Mother got upset because he is ignoring the very power which is making him see, hear, talk and move! Hence in order to make Adi Shankara aware, she withdrew her power, and Adishankara became standstill. After meditating on his state, he has realized that he has so far ignored another important aspect of Purusha i.e. Prakriti.... And thus he composed "Saundrya Lahari". > -----Ursprungliche Nachricht----- > Von: Venkatesh [venky] > Gesendet: Tuesday, February 26, 2002 8:57 PM > An: advaitin > Betreff: Re: did...? > > > Greetings ! > > This is a very very strange story, to say the least.
