Guest guest
It is presumed that definition of "bullying" is threatening others without necessary authroity of rules or law, just by ones' one personality even one is wrong. Two different issues are involved in the question asked- whether one is encouraged to "bully" others and what should be the individual reaction if one "is bullied" . Again religious preaching- the official position is one thing and what is practiced by most of the followers in practice is another. As I understood in Hinduism, since all souls emnate from the same divine source- Brahaman, there is no necessity of bullying others as they are no different from oneself. But this is at the highest conceptual stage. If one is bullied, they are to do as per their "Dharma" assigned roles in life. The warrior class can and should take to force to resist bullying. Others are to respond as per situation. In actual practice, most Hindus arer easily bullied and rarely they bully others except those the weak among their own community-mostly the poor, and widowed women. Hari Om. I am looking to see how the different world religions feel on this matter. Taking into account the Hindu teachings of 'Ahimsa' (Non violence) one may be tempted to think that Hindu attitude may be perhaps to 'tolerate' -- but I do not think that is correct. -jay Vivekananda Centre London Get Your Private, Free E-mail from Indiatimes at http://email.indiatimes.com Buy Music, Video, CD-ROM, Audio-Books and Music Accessories from http://www.planetm.co.in
