The Journey to the Truth Bhagavad Gita CD-ROM.

 

At the Chinmaya Vishwa Sammelan, most of you must have witnessed or

heard

about the release of the CD-ROM on Bhagavad Gita: "The Journey to the

Truth". This CD-ROM is a very unique and proud production of Chinmaya

Mission. It is a befitting and glowing tribute to Pujya Gurudev's

everlasting presence and continuing grace as His commentaries on the

Bhagavad Gita unfold marvelously in multimedia format to meet the new

generation of computer age and time. In a true yagna-spirit of

dedication

and devotion, numerous devotees have helped plan, execute, and

contribute to

the success of this production in so many ways - unstinted efforts

and time,

funds, contacts, and skills. In-and-through it all, precious are the

instruments through whom He worked. I sincerely, appreciate the team-

work of

Chinmaya Mission Houston for this project under the inspiring

leadership of

Acharya Smt. Darshana Nanavaty. May Pujya Gurudev's blessings be ever

with

them.

 

This CD-ROM captures the philosophies and messages of the Bhagavad

Gita at

five different levels to cater to the needs of the audience. It

includes

mellifluous devotional and inspiring chants (traditional and classical

Indian styles) of all the 701 verses, splash screens (capturing the

messages

in animated forms), Pujya Gurudev's video-clippings and audio

narration, and

an excellent section on guided-meditation. There are games, fables,

quizzes,

and coloring pads specially designed for children to familiarize them

with

characters and mythological messages of the Mahabharata. The story of

Mahabharata is depicted in rich Basohli style paintings. The messages

and

metaphors contained in the Bhagavad Gita are marvelously portrayed

through

the use of Warli Folk art. The CD-ROM consists of two CDs and

includes an

electronic copy of Pujya Gurudev's commentaries on the entire

Bhagavad Gita.

The CD also contains glossary of Samskrta words with pronunciation,

root

meaning, and authentic explanation.

 

This CD-ROM has the potential to revolutionize the thinking of the

young and

old alike. It is also an excellent educational tool for Balvihar,

Yuvakendra, and adult classes. It caters to college/university

students and

for lectures on the Hindu values.

 

Through this memorandum, I am requesting you all to disseminate the

information regarding the CD-ROM to all Chinmaya Mission members. It

is also

an excellent tool to inspire and introduce the Bhagavad Gita to other

non-Chinmaya Mission families as well. I strongly encourage you all to

support and promote this CD-ROM through the Mission bookstores, the

Mission

Publications (newsletters, web pages), class announcements,

demonstrations,

group studies, pravachans, and other forms.

 

It is my fervent wish and hope that each and every Chinmaya Mission

family

will own a copy of this CD-ROM, and let the Song Celestial guide them

to a

life of greater success, peace and fulfillment.
