Namaste Satyakama's ( lovers of the Truth)

When we read truth, it does not matter from which it came, as it all

resides akshara , from where the great rishi's cognized the Ved.

Yet when I read the bible, its truths are relevent.

One example: God created man in His own image.... Gen 1:27

People say, how can this be ? This must be just a symbol, a metaphor

for something else. What this statement is saying is true.  We have

His same nature ( this is called swarupa). Just like the spark of a

fire, has the same nature of the fire itself. Each individual soul

(jiva) is a Spark of  Brahman ( this Totality, this Infinite

Universal Self we discuss). Its not saying we look or walk like Him,

our our bodies take His shape, yet His nature( pure consciousness)

is our existence.  The rishi's say our bodies ( and this earth,

rock, liqiuid, gas, space, leaf, animal, vegetable or mineral) is

condensed consciousness (same as they say in quantum physics). And

most of everything is really space ( my favorite element, akasha)

from the atomic to the univsrsal. They even wonder how all this (

matter) stays together , cause there is so much space between atoms.

This is where they talk of the various forces in physics that I am

not knowledgably  of, that bind this matter together.

That said, we are miniature HIMs. "Him" is like that sound Hreem -

all encompassing. Its like another word Hamsa. A name for a Swan -

they give Him this name , as one of beauty; As the swan also floats

on the water ( life, existence) without getting wet ( or pulled into

this existence) or without the possibility of any blemish. When

Hamsa is repeated , it turns into So-ham,  as the front sound gets

connected ( spills, as they say)  with the back sound,

and we end with So-ham, "I am He".

Now, the rishi's say, we naturally say this with each breadth, when

we breathe in, its 'so'  and out is 'ham'.  So with every breadth

we take,  He is on or lips, and we are connecting with HIM.

As we know the Nisargadatta Maharaj , living during our time ( 80's)

became enlightened Bt just using one mantra called I AM. And sounds

like Aye-em.  He was just an every day householder, but his guru

that gave him this sound/diksha.

I leave you  with one of his quotes that is dear to me: " To know

the world you forget the SELF, to know the SELF you forget the

world".

Pranams, and shanti shanti shantiye

This letter comes from an  'almost new' entrant into the group.

Truth cannot be stated by anybody else than the one who has Known the Truth.

If the Truth is Known, then there remains no more a "Known Truth" and a" Knower", for, they become one.

(Aham bhojanam naiva Bhojyam na Bhoktha)

So, all who state  "Truth" are "the Truth" and "the "True".

If one finds "difference' between those who state Truth, he stumbles.

About the quote,'To know the world, you forget the SELF, to know the SELF, you forget the world'.:

It looks a simple quote, but what a profound message it conveys:  just look at those two "you"s in the quote and contemplate. What else one has to do than to remove that 'you' (or the 'i') to 'KNOW' that the world is not different from the  SELF but only the manifestation of the SELF.
