namaste shri atagrasin-ji,

I did not say or even imply that you have claimed anything.

If my post came out that way, my apologies. What I was

trying to say is: while it would *appear* that some are

gunpowder-type, and some are charcoal-type, that is not

a property of the sAdhaka, but to a stage in the spiritual

'journey'. We cannot even say that charcoal is a more

spiritually mature level than gunpowder or vice-versa.

We can easily see the example of toTakAcArya, the disciple

of shri shankara in this context.

Your discussions with shri madathil nair are fascinating.

I do not agree fully with what you were saying (in all the

threads), but am learning.

Gummuluru Murthy

In this context, shri Venkatram, desciple of Baba Narmade Har, while preaching the

gist of Gaudapada's following sloka,

"Yam bhavam darshayet yasya tam bhavam sa tu pashyati

Tam chavati sa bhutwaasou tad gruhahaa samupaiti tam!" ,

explained as follows:

If the guru preaches a mantra that reads as follows,"Eka pucham chatur bahum,

humphat swahaahaa" (meaning , Hail the entity with one tail and four limbs !

), the desciple unquestioningly chants that Mantra in full faith and truly

attains his goal of realisation. Here the mantra acts as a potent impeller and

the desciple's unfettered devotion and faith in his guru is all that matters.

The Sadhaka's conviction is all in all in the realhm of Spirituality.

Hari OM !
