He eats begging; skin is the clothing; over that a snake swaying; fearsome cemetery is the abode; ornament is skull ! Still if analyzed, realizing His affluence and His qualities, the divines seek Him. Notes: 1. Our Lord gets adorned with all those things the world considers inauspicious, but the God is called shiva the auspicious and perfect ! We, who are not inherently auspicious need the external prosperity (that too which are non permanent) to establish our goodness. But why does the naturally Supreme, Eternal and Blissful God need all these ostentations outside ? The smart ones realize His glory and get benefited, so are the devas, who got all their glories from Him. (c.f ariya kAtchiyarAy - thiruppAchuram) 2. chemmai - perfection; aiyam - alms; adhaL - skin; aravam - snake; karikADu - cemetry; kalan - ornament; peRRi - possession; n^Irmai - nature; n^Ervar - seek/penance. ===== --------------------------- Visit Shaivism Home Page at http://www.shaivam.org --------------------------- Health - your guide to health and wellness http://health.
