Meaning:

What can hardship do ? What can misery do ?

What can the cloud of troubling strong deeds do

to me, who has taken up limitless slavery

to the One in the tiny hall of the great town

of thillai !

Notes:

1. Sidhdhantins explain that allal refer to the

earned karma (AkAmiyam), aruvinai to allocated

quota of past karma (prArabdham) and thollai

valvinaith thon^dham to the complete past karma

in account (sanychitham). All these three would

not distress only those who not just worship but

become complete slaves of Lord shiva. Once we become

Its "possession", the karma that cannot affect the

pathi cannot affect those possessed too.
