Guest guest
HI Friends:many seekers still expect that when they have finally found Liberation, they will always feel calm and peaceful. But is that really so? It is not a rule that once we have recognized our awareness, that all problems will go away. Liberation does not guarantee freedom of pain and suffering. Why should we believe that? Not one so-called awakened being is without problems, not one spiritual teacher is more awake than you and me. How could they, if there is only one Consciousness? How could anyone ever claim the best part of consciousness for himself and leave the rest for the others? Consciousness can not be divided into pieces like a pizza; it is One and all-encompassing. So we do not have to imitate the spiritual hero's, we can be ourselves just the way we are right now. Trying to change our way of life is another barrier, indeed. True recognition of being already awake can occur in our ordinary living: there is no need to look any deeper than plain everyday life. If we are looking for the infinite, there can only be one of it and not two or more. In that case, the way the infinite consciousness is expressing itself through each of us, is already It. This means that the way consciousness expresses itself during a 'normal' activity (eating, walking, writing, driving) is as valid as the way consciousness expresses itself in some kind of blissful state. It may express itself in peace or fear, in joy and depression, and so on. It is all equally consciousness. It is not necessary to divide 'It' into 'this' and 'that.' If the processes of the mind are checkmated, what is left of us? When we have lost our tools (believing, contemplating, meditating, logical thought), what is there left to do? Liberation is simply sitting in what is, without any idea of becoming anyone or changing anything. And nothing or nobody is more aware than anybody else. The way consciousness expresses itself through the form of a teacher, guru or avatar is just as valid as the way consciousness expresses itself through the form of you and me. It is all consciousness expressing itself, and no person is better or more awake than another one. Again: how could it be, if all is One? Consciousness is always directly in front of us in Its absolute totality. Where else could It possibly be? By definition, there can not be some part of Consciousness here and then some other part of It around the corner, too. That would be implying that Consciousness could be divided in different pieces, that it could be divided from Itself. Similarly, there is no event in our life that is more valid than another one. If we have pain in our back right now, that is "It." If we are in an ego-less state or experiencing bliss, that is "It." If we are touching the keyboard of the PC with our fingers , then the sensation of feeling the pressure in our hands is "It." If we are dying from a terrible disease, that is "It." All are equally expressions of the infinite . Atagrasin
