thiruchchiRRambalam

Meaning:

rAkshasas, kinnaras, yama, varuNa, agilant

fire, air, sun, moon, undoubtedly tiger, snake,

vasus, celestials, nether-world dwellers (daemons)

and all others (categories) - whoever without

any loss of interest worship Your Holy Feet,

seeing the glorious blessings they got, without

any surprise, I reached to Your Holy Feet,

Oh Lord of thiruppunkUr of fertile orchards !

Notes:

1. purANas talk about various stories where a

divine favored one clan to the other in blessing.

Also some deities are worshipped by a particular

clan or the other. A careful study of the glories

talked of Lord shiva in purANas it can be very much

observed that as the Supreme pati, God has always

given boons to all pashus irrespective of whether it

is deva or asura or nara etc. Also Lord shiva is

worshipped, as indicated by the purANas, by all sects.

Of course the boon they get depends on what they ask

what is their righteousness, but boons are not denied

because of any classification as such. Whoever

worships with sincerity is certain to get the

blessings

of God.

In the previous posting the meaning of iyakkar in this

song was put as rAkshasas. Please read it corrected as

yakshas.

Thanks to Lakshmi Srinivas for correcting.
