Guest guest
> This was reported to Bhagavan who said: "is that so? >In that case he will go, according to the > sastras, to Brahma Loka and abide there till the end >of Brahma's cycle when he, together with Brahma, will >merge in the formless infinity of > Nirguna. Yes, Venkata Sastri must have gone to Brahma >Loka. You can tell his people that I said so." What >further proof is needed that Bhagavan > did not regard the higher worlds as mere mirages? Namaste, The answers of Sri Bhagawan are in accordance with the level of understanding of the seeker. A seeker who said the same thing as you regarding Bhagavan's belief in various things corrected himself after going through a very amusing incident. I repeat that here. "A Malayalam devotee came to stay in Sri Ramana Ashram for a few weeks. He was so inspired by the presence of Sri Bhagavan that he wanted to write His biography in Malayalam. After a few inquiries he came to know that no one had written a biography of Sri Bhagavan in Malayalam. So our devotee immediately set out to do it. He collected titbits from various town dwellers, Ashram inmates, vagabonds etc. After all this, he meticulously wrote it down in Malayalam and submitted it to Bhagavan for His approval. Now it so happened that at that time there were only two people in the ashram besides the devotee who could read Malayalam. One, Sri Kunju Swami, was away on a piligrimage. The other was Sri Bhagavan Himself. Sri Bhagavan went through the full thing very carefully, made a few grammatical correctionas and then approved it. Everyone was very happy. The news went out that Sri Bhagavan's biography in Malayalam had been written and it would soon be published. In this midst of all this euphoria, Sri Kunju Swami suddenly returned. He wanted to see this biography of Sri Bhagavan since he could read Malayalam. Kunju swami read the handwritten document of this devotee with great enthusiasm. But to his horror he found everything in it was wrong! According to this article, Sri Bhagavan had been a lawyer from Madurai who had been married etc and who had renounced everything and come here to practise tapas etc. This was abolutley false as Sri Bhagavan had attained to ralization at the young age of 16 and then came to Tiruvannamalai in answer to the call of Lord Arunachaleshwara. Kunju Swami then rebuked the young Malayali devotee for writing such rubbish. But the devotee immediately pointed out that this document had been approved by Sri Bhagavan Himself and hence must be true. Sri Kunju Swami saw the grammatical corrections made by Sri Bhagavan. So with a sad heart he took the document to Sri Bhagavan and asked Him for an explanation. 'Is this all true, Sri Bhagavan?". Sri Bhagavan smiled with amusement and asked back, "Do you mean to say that only this is false and everything else you see around you is true?" The author of this work (Sri T.K. Sundersa Iyer, I think) then concludes, for Bhagavan the Supreme Self, his actual biography was as "real" as this fake biography. So whenever Bhagavan approves something, it must be understood in its correct context. " Regards, Anand Sign up for SBC Dial - First Month Free http://sbc.
