Thanks very much for asking me to take up discussion of an

upanishad on the Advaitin List. That is very kind of you.

 

Yes, I can take up one of the smaller upanishads, or the

sixth chapter of Chandogya, the tat tvam asi teaching. I cannot

say I am knowledgeable about any of them, but certainly can

lead the discussion. I was thinking of getting into more

regualr participation into the discussions and, may be, this

is the way to get started again.

 

I certainly support your recent posting pointing out the

objectives of the List and re-directing the discussions to

where they should be - on shri shankara's teachings.

I share your concern on this matter - while I enjoy reading

postings on shri ramaNa's teachings, they have become a bit

too voluminous and not concentrated on a specific point and

also presented out of context.

Great! So when do we start? And can you suggest some preliminary

readings online either in archives or some other site? This would

help in a better understanding for a lay person like me.
