Guest guest
Dear Sri Sadananda, In consultation with my estimable collegue and countryman Dr.Berkeley I diagnose a serious displacement towards Idealism and a possible case of incipient illusionism. He welcomes the former and deplores the latter as that "governing Spirit whose will constitutes the laws of nature" would not allow us to drift on to the rocks of scepticism and its invariable accompaniment infidelity. Continue taking the tar water he says, brinjal oil applied to the scalp rubbing counter clockwise is excellent if ruinous to the antimacassars. I would say 'take your pulse' and you will find that you are not a consciousness but a person/jiva whose conceptual schema is based on having a specific place in the Space/Time continuum i.e. a point of view. This is a basic given, all other pondering is parasitic on this primitive situation. Sankara regards this continuous embodiment as so important for human awareness that it must be retained even in the exiguous form of the linga sarira for reincarnation to occur. It is only thus that continuity can be retained (B.S.B.III.i.1) This is what distinguishes the Upanshadic view from that of the Samkhya and the Buddhist, Vaissesika and Jaina. Even in the matter of reincarnation coherence with the rational base is retained. The good Doctor wonders if your global or universal mind be not his God under another guise. In any case both he and I recommend you to Him and together we bid you, sir, goodnight. Michael "Tar water is of a nature so mild and benign and proportioned to the human constitution, as to warm without heating, to cheer but not inebriate." Guest guest
Namaste Shri Michael Reidy. Of course, your post is addressed to Shri Sadanandaji. Nevertheless, I can't help this intrusion as the subject is a matter of common concern to all of us. Of late, you seem to be employing a language style that I find very difficult to understand. I am sure others on this list will share my view. I am afraid I have to request "bhashyas" to understand what you are trying to convey. May I, therefore, request you to revert to your old, simple, intelligible way of expressing your thoughts? Thanks and pranams.
