Guest guest
Pranaam, This refers to a few posts by some respected fellow members of the Group over the past couple of days. Without meaning to be disrespectful towards anyone, repeat anyone, may I humbly say that in our enthusiasm we sometimes lose sight of the ultiamte goal of this wonderful discussion group---and that is LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER. My humble request is that we should, each one of us and I include myself, avoid spontaneous responses to any posting, *especially* to those that have matter we do not agree with. Its one thing to query or respond but quite another to pick at one another. If we cann add, make a positive contribution, to what is being discussed then and then alone should we "post" else just let things lie.....no point in starting a discussion on frivolous matters. In Vedanta there are no winners and no losers. Swami Vivekananda said that in Vedanta we move from Truth to higher Truth and that should be our main purpose and goal. It is abslolutely essential that we maintain calm and dignity - qualities that are of course present in each one of us as students of the Great Sage Sankara. There is so much serious discussion on such subtle topics that it sometimes becomes diffcult to concentrate when certain unnecessary postings come up. We have the good fortune of having some extremely learned and knowledgable members on the Group and it would be a fallacy to waste our time on trivia.....In the postings of Ram Chandra and ProfVK there is a gold mine that is staring us in the face and we are looking elsewhere?? Sankara would refer to us not just as Mudhaha (fools) but as Vimudhaha (PhD amongst fools)! I reiterate that this is not intended to hurt or belittle any individual. Please take this in the spirit in which it is written. I am sorry for this long post but thought it necessary to share my thoughts especially in view of the fact that we are starting Gita Satsang next week and have to mentally prepare ourselves and the whole Group for it. In case there is ever a "bad" posting from me, please do not hesitate to pull me up for it. Best regards, Kamal
